When Bernadette left it to me to plan our twentieth wedding anniversary, I wondered how I was going to find something as special as our 15th anniversary at Qualia Resort on Hamilton Island.
After weeks of research I went to Bern with the answer, and the destination ticked all the boxes for a winter escape with all the things we hoped for. Our criteria were simple for this celebration. One, must be complete privacy, a plunge pool or spa, a great view, nature activities and a place where we can relax, play our favorite music and soak up the winter sun. The Mountain View Lodge with its floor to ceiling glass frontage and open plan living is the perfect location for couple to come together and to reignite their love for each other. The deck leading off to the north captured the winter sun and lying there you could feel as warm as summer. The occasional dip into the solar heated plunge pool was a great way to cool off.
Coming from Brisbane to Crystal Creek was a beautiful journey in itself. A nice distance to spend time in the car winding down and getting a chance to talk with each other without the kids seemed liked something we hadn't done for the last fourteen years. A quick stop at the Whistle Stop coffee shop at Pimpama on the way down was a great place to break the two hour journey.
On arrival at Crystal Creek, to be greeted and briefed about the in-formalities of our three night stay, to be told to work on your all over tan and to crank up the music was a great surprise that was not expected in such a nature retreat. Your advice was strictly adhered to and made our stay even better than we could have possibly hoped for. I bet we would not get advice that from any other resort in the world.
A great mix of exercise and relaxation in total privacy, everything Bern and I look for in a destination. And we should not forget the food. The meal strategy is just brilliant, bringing couples together to prepare a simple delicious meal with sophistication which might not otherwise happen in the real life we live, for the smallest amount of preparation. The flavours are sensational.
Hardly a week goes by that we do not think about the great time we had during our retreat and we can't wait for the next opportunity we get to return one day.

Amazing rainforest and the accommodation, views and wildlife fantastic. Many thanks.

Awesome place for our Honeymoon. Loved the privacy and seclusion. Thanks to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

What an amazing place to be, we stayed 7 nights for our honeymoon and it was everything we expected and more. We stayed in the Springbrook Mountain Lodge, it was so private & waking up to a view of the mountains every morning was nothing but spectacular and worth every penny. Dip in the private plunge pool at any time of the day and night, cook your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen or have meals delivered to your room daily at set times to ensure your privacy is maintained. The lodge was spotless, stunning, the décor perfectly appointed & luxurious throughout. We can't think of enough good things to say about this location, whether it be your honeymoon, anniversary, birthday or any event you can think of just go you won't be disappointed. More than highly recommend to absolutely anyone, you would be crazy not to choose this venue should you come across it.

I wanted to take a moment to personally thank each and every member on site at Crystal Creek who helped make my proposal to my future wife Merryn the most magical day that could be delivered.
The pressure of the day was intense, with a long list of activities, first date re-enactment and pressure to hide the big secret it was hard to keep it all together.
I was simply hoping we would be arriving at paradise to help calm everything down after, and we were not disappointed.
The site was everything Merryn had ever dreamed of in a rainforest escape, truly offering the perfect mix of seclusion with luxury.
She never wanted to leave the hot tub, the cake was absolutely amazing (I would love to know if this is available at a bakery for purchase?) and the site had so much for us to do and see in one weekend, we barely had enough time to cover it all.
You folks truly have a diamond in the forest with your place and exceeded every one of my expectations ten fold. These were only so high due to the important nature of the date!
Special thanks to Mark for helping position the letters I provided on the window sill (and even sending us a photo!) this was the icing on the cake that melted Merryn's heart that little bit more.
We are already wanting to plan our next visit as an anniversary escape!
You folks are awesome.

Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat is a very beautiful place to stay. I stayed here on my Honeymoon just recently, and was blown away by the wonderful service from all the staff I met throughout my 3 night stay. We stayed in the Satinash and the views of the rainforest were so pretty, the showers and spa and outdoor showers all had great water pressure and the furnishings were very good and comfortable. The meals were REALLY good, but probably a bit too generous for us, you would NEVER go hungry here with the amount you get, and it is well worth the money you spend. The Rainforest walk and the Rockhopper walk is a must, I wasn't daring enough to try the Lookout... We went and saw the glow worms after dark and they are very beautiful to look at. The only tip I would give couples staying at this retreat is to make sure you check your DVD's are in the case before you return them, as I accidently left one in the DVD player when we checked out, I wouldn't want to put out any other couples staying there if they wanted to watch the DVD. The bungalows are also very clean, so that was nice compared to some other places I have stayed at. The only downside I found was that the bed had a bit of a "dip" in the middle of it, and I forgot to tell the staff about it.

If you are looking for somewhere special to getaway with your other half and just spend some quality time together in beautiful private surroundings then this is the perfect place!
We were fortunate to have a 3 night stay in the gorgeous Cedar Lodge last week and I cannot say enough how great it was. Everything exceeded our expectations and we are already planning our return. The minute we walked through our front door the huge glass walls made you feel completely immersed in the rainforest and you immediately felt you were somewhere special.

My wife and I chose this venue for our low-key honeymoon. We had heard only rave reviews and were not disappointed. We had the mountainview lodge and we loved waking up to the beautiful views ... I'd suggest it is perfect for that romantic escape, and best of all, no kids around!

Spent the weekend at Crystal Creek celebrating our wedding anniversary ... accommodation was beautiful ... the rainforest was just outside the windows and the creek and waterholes a short stroll down the path ... one of the most relaxing weekends we have ever had!
This is an absolutely stunning retreat to stay. The weekend we had the pleasure to stay was a rainy cold weekend and would have ruined and put a miserable feel to any other weekend yet it did not affect our stay whatsoever. If you're looking for a some romantic uninterrupted one on one time with your partner then this is the place you have to stay. This is the type of place that illustrates on the website exactly what you get so if you're drawn in by those beautiful photos you will not be disappointed. CCRR exceeded every expectation that we had. It was the best weekend my partner and I have ever had in our lives. We will definitely be coming back and have already passed on the good word to friends and family so that they also have the opportunity to experience this unimaginable place.

My husband and I spent the weekend (two nights) in the Springbrook Mountain View Lodge and it was amazing! The lodge was absolutely gorgeous and surpassed my expectations. We have stayed in some amazing places and this really was up there accommodation wise with some of the best. Our friends stayed in the other Mountain View Lodge and it was also gorgeous however if you have the option, stay in Springbrook because although practically identical inside Springbrook has phenomenal views.
We also did a couple of the walks on the property that were tougher than expected but rewarding. (Definitely checkout the hammocks.)
Not far up to Springbrook and the 'best of all' lookout walk as well as 'the natural bridge' walk. Both are short but well worth a look.
Staff at Crystal Creek were fantastic. We arrived late Friday night and after calling that afternoon we were told that we could just drive straight up to our lodge. Directions were simple and concise and when we arrived our lodge was lit up and beautifully warm.
I could go on bragging about the beautiful pool, spectacular sky light above the bed that you can watch the stars through and the divine (huge) bath tub but you should just see it for yourself!

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights in a Mountain View lodge (Springbrook) the lodge was beautifully decorated with all the mood cons the bathroom was divine, so where the body product so good you want to eat them especially the soap! The views are just spectacular the lodge has floor to ceiling windows and open plan which is quite large. We sat out side enjoying the beautiful sunshine with a glass of wine or two enjoying the views and the serenity this beautiful place provides, the pool was too cool to swim in but still loved hearing the water flow over the wet edge. The meals and breakfast where supplied fresh daily so gooood! The walks in rainforest are just beautiful and peaceful, yes the hammocks do exist over the creek. I highly recommend CC, splurge out and book Springbrook Lodge you won't regret it. Big thank you to Mark.....you know what this means :) Be back soon.

We stayed in the Creekside Cabin for the weekend. It's not cheap to stay here but you pay for luxury and comfort and that's exactly what you get! 5 star accommodation with complete privacy! An orchard to pick your own citrus fruits and plenty of walks nearby. And hammocks over the running creek make a good way to relax and are very cool indeed!
WOW! This place is amazing would recommend this place to everyone. Will definitely be returning. Enjoyed the walk too although my legs are sore today. Love you guys!

If you want a place to unwind and relax with your special someone... this is it! We spent 5 wonderful nights here celebrating 10 amazing years as husband and wife (away from 4 lively children!)
We did all the walks, hiked Mt. Warning (a highlight), visited Byron Bay and did a beautiful scenic drive. The bungalow exceeded our expectations in the way of privacy, peace and quiet.
Very clean and well maintained.
We visited CCRR for our 20th anniversary... It was simply perfect. Beautiful, isolated and private. CCRR is on and old banana farm under the shadow of the Springbrook plateau. The owners are doing a fantastic job in regenerating native rainforest. There are few places where you can walk in world heritage quality Forest and have the track to yourself... This is one of them. After that activity, you return to pure luxury. Everything was provided. The staff were helpful, friendly and when you wanted, not there.
Thanks to one and all.
Room Tip: We were in the rainforest canopy bungalows... They are totally private and worth it.

Fantastic location. We booked into Kamala, a canopy bungalow, for our honeymoon. Kamala was secluded but with amazing views.
The bed, bathroom and massages arranged by the resort were all superb.
The cottage was well equipped with the exception of a dishwasher; even though we didn't generate a lot of washing up, we would expect this to be included for this type, quality and price accommodation.

We just stayed here at one of the spa cabins and it was absolutely gorgeous. The cabin is all glass at the back and side so you feel completely part of the rain forest which is beautiful. It is a completely tranquil setting. The spa bathroom is a wonderful experience. We only stayed one night but will definitely be back!

Beautiful natural surroundings, staying in luxurious bungalows. Stunning crystal clear rock pools and rainforest trekking for all (easy to the not for the faint hearted)! Staff were lovely. We couldn't ask for anything more, except to stay longer! ! :)
We had a lovely stay, thank you! Great food and a quiet and secluded place to relax.

Thanks so much for the great getaway for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. The cabin was amazing and the retreat so tranquil, but with so many activities to do we will definitely be staying here again.

What a beautiful place. The views are amazing and the cabins are awesome. So great to come to a place that accepts same sex couples. My partner said she couldn't have asked for a better birthday present. Thank you so much.

Thank you very much for a wonderful stay at Crystal Creek. Our time here was truly magical and relaxing. It was the best way to celebrate my wife's birthday. A huge thanks to the enormous efforts by all the staff. Already planning ahead for our next stay.

We have stayed at Crystal Creek on two occasions, once in October 2011 and once in October 2013. Our first visit coincided with me proposing to my wife, while the second visit coincided with our 1st wedding anniversary.
In October 2011 I booked the "Pandorea" lodge. This had its own parking right at the front door of the accommodation. It was quite large - you enter into a dining room that leads to a kitchen and lounge area, and the a separate bedroom and ensuite. The layout of the lodge meant that you could relax and watch TV in the lounge area but also turn the TV around so that you could also watch from the bedroom if you wanted to. There was a large balcony that had a BBQ and two couches to enjoy the view.
In October 2013 I booked the "Kamala" lodge. This was smaller than the "Pandorea" but still very well laid out. You enter into the kitchen which leads off to an outdoor area and lounge area, and the bedroom and ensuite was up on a mezzanine which was a pretty cool design. There was no parking next to this lodge, but instead we parked under a carport and were taken a short distance to the lodge from here to the lodge via a golf buggy. The staff had a bottle of Moet waiting for us upon arrival as we were return guests which was a nice touch.
Both stays were very relaxing and comfortable.
Just wanted to send you all an email on what a great little weekend escape you provided! Thank you for everything, I could not have asked for a better spot to propose to the most wonderful girl in the world. Everything from our late arrival to the 100 candle surprise was handled professionally and so smooth it felt like the rainforest bungalow was home! (we wish).
Thank you again for how well organised everything was! We will definitely be back and everyone back home wants to know more about CCRR!
Cameron (Satinash, a Glass Terrace Bungalow)
Thoughtful generous service in stunning surrounds. Great escape where you can do as much or as little as you like. We stayed in Pandorea which was lovely. Was tough to re-enter the world today after our stay came to an end!

This place is beautiful! Thank you so much for making our honeymoon fantastic. It's always nice to meet such genuine people! We stayed in Carabeen and loved it. We had so much fun on our hikes and loved picnicking in the orchard. The homemade cheesecake we had was divine along with all the organic/farm fresh produce we ate. Thank you again for making this wonderful for us! We will definitely be back next year. See ya then!

Thank you for such an amazing experience. A whole new appreciation for our wilderness. Thank you Mark and the team - you were helpful and thoughtful. Compliments to the chef (large portions and simple but tasty flavours). Such peace of mind. Can't fault a thing.
