Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat is definitely a favourite getaway of mine to immerse myself in pure luxury in the middle of the rainforest. Nestled at the base of the spectacular Springbrook Mountain National Park, CCRR is a unique luxury experience like no other. From lush tropical rainforest and tranquil waterfalls that surround your private Luxury Mountain View Lodge to the incredible attention to detail and first class service by hosts Mark and the team, a weekend at CCRR is not to be missed.

Absolutely beautiful! We have been to several romantic retreats in our time and this has been the best. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate our engagement in such a fashion.

I travelled with my husband to CCRR to celebrate our 21st Wedding Anniversary. What a wonderful place it was. After travelling along roads lined with lush paddocks and fat cattle or horses we arrived. Check in was fast and organised. We were given all the information we needed and encouraged to contact the office if we required anything at all or even for a query. We stayed in Numinbah lodge which is the highest of all the accommodation. The lodge was beautifully fitted out with luxurious touches including heated towel rails, fluffy bathrobes and slippers and eye masks. To our surprise champagne and chocolates greeted us on the table which is a generous thought. The views are spectacular from the balcony and the private plunge pool is solar heated to ensure comfort. There is a two sided wood heater which we didn't require but it would be very romantic to sit and watch the flames from either the bed or the lounge with a glass of wine, surround sound system to die for and even an ipod dock. We ordered dinner both nights and breakfast both mornings and these too were amazing. There was more food than we could eat and found that we had enough left overs to eat for lunch. The staff specialised in ensuring they didn't disturb us even when our meals were delivered the second day. This place is a wonderful retreat to go for couples wanting to spend time together with out distractions. Our stay was something we will never forget.
There is a games room with a huge selection of DVDs and some walks to do but as it was stormy weather we didn't bother leaving our lodge.
This was the isolation and natural retreat we needed. Would like to be staying another week as we feel we only just started to relax! We'll be back.
Barb and Paul (Tamarind, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
Wonderfully secluded and peaceful place to enjoy being together. So peaceful, excellent honeymoon location! We will be back.

What a great way to spend the weekend, relaxing and doing nothing. Catching up on sleep, food and each other. Perfect way to spend our 3rd anniversary.

What a beautiful place to have our Honeymoon. The food was spectacular, the cabins brilliant and fantastic walking and facilities. Thank you so much we will definitely return!
Mr and Mrs Chavez (Carabeen, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
What a gorgeous part of the world and so lovely that it remains unspoilt. We had a very relaxing 3 night stay! The meals were great, the DVD library impressive, the bathrobes superbly fluffy and that sunken spa bath! Heaven! Thanks for the very attentive but discreet hospitality! We will definitely recommend it to friends.
Nicole and Greg (Quandong, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
This is a great place to relax, unwind and reconnect with your partner. We stayed at one of the Creekside Spa Cabins for seven nights, and we were lucky enough to have almost perfect weather the whole time (and full moon smack bang in the middle of our visit). That meant we went to sleep to the sound of the creek and looking at the moonlight through the trees, and woken up to the songs of the whip birds and currawongs.
Breakfasts were delivered every second afternoon, ensuring we were left alone most of the time.
We chose to purchase dinners for two nights - although delicious we didn't think these were value for money. The breakfasts on the other hand were great (well, except the crumpets one).
The cabin was very well appointed - sound system, very comfy king bed, two-person spa, full kitchen, large HD TV and a great DVD collection available in the games room.
Every afternoon found us on the deck on the day beds overlooking the rainforest, with a champagne in our hands :-)
The staff were extremely friendly helpful and weren't imposing - we only saw them when we sought them out, when they delivered breakfasts and for the cleaning (full refresh on 2nd and 5th days).
There are numerous bush walks (and hammocks over the creek) - and on all our walks we didn't see another guest although over half the cabins seemed to be in use throughout our visit.
Overall a great relaxing place.
OzRichie (Carabeen, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
What a perfect location. We were given a warm welcome and were shown around our bungalow including a personal guide as to how to work the air conditioners, the log fire and the DVD/sound system (which was very 21st century). Not only robes to lounge around in but luxurious fluffy robes! Complimentary chocolates, a bottle of wine and some free milk (we'd forgotten ours) made us feel extra special. The rainforest view from the spa bath was lovely (especially by candlelight) as was the view from the bedroom/deck. Huge number of Blu-ray and DVDs to play and beautiful walks on location led to a weekend of sleep, relaxation, walking, reading and DVD watching. What a lovely way to relax in each other's company.
Anna1604 (Tamarind, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
Another wonderful, beautiful few days in such a special place.
Jene and Jon (Quandong, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
Thanks for the amazing weekend!!
Peter and Nicola (Cedar Lodge, the Luxury Rainforest Lodge)
A beautiful place to relax and unwind. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Aileen and Robert (Cedar Lodge, the Luxury Rainforest Lodge)
We are so in love with this place we don't want to go back home L Thank you for having us.
Mary and Peter (Numinbah Lodge, a Luxury Mountain View Lodge)
As a retreat, this is perfect. We were left alone to the degree we wanted – we didn't want crowds, entertainment and noise you'd find at a resort. With a little pre-planning and self-catering was a breeze.
Luxurious lodge with all the mod-cons and the most amazing bath with an equally amazing view from it!
The staff we had contact with were helpful, friendly and polite.
Probably not the place for you if you're not content with your own company. The perfect place for you if you need a complete break from the world!
The walks, the trees, the stars and a very comfy mattress induced total rest and relaxation.
We'll be going back one day!
My husband and I were very lucky to stay in Numinbah Lodge (Mountain View Lodge) for three nights. It was definitely paradise in the rainforest!
The resort is in a true, virgin rainforest location and extremely private. If you're looking for a resort out of the way, Crystal Creek is perfect. I've stayed in a few properties that state they are private but you can see other houses in the distance or they are located on small acreage – however Crystal Creek is truly remote!
The lodge was open plan and when I walked in, it took my breath away! One side of the lodge is floor to ceiling windows looking out to the valley and the rainforest, the furnishings are homely and inviting and I loved that there were tea lights everywhere. It was quite romantic.
In addition, there was a good size kitchen, large deck, BBQ and the plunge pool!!
The resort offers meals (a set menu, brought to your lodge) but we cooked our own dinners as it is a little bit too far to drive into town for dinner. Plus sitting on the deck looking out was just amazing - the view is just stunning.
The pool is solar heated and large enough to have a good swim around in. There was nothing better than resting of the wet edge looking out to the rainforest and watching the birds and the very friendly goanna.
We walked down to Crystal Creek - if you have seen the photos of the hammocks over the stream - then it's exactly the same in real life!
The Creekside Cabins are along the stream and looking from the outside seemed very quaint and private.
We had a massage booked through the resort. The masseur came to the lodge and gave a very relaxing massage. We also did a bush walk and checked out the games room which had stacks of DVDs and plenty of information.
We will be back one day and we would highly recommend!
Room Tip: Mountain Lodges both have pools. Numinbah looks through the valley and is at the highest point of the resort. Springbrook's looks towards the mountain. Both have stunning views!
PurpleZoe21 (Numinbah Lodge, a Luxury Mountain View Lodge)
A beautiful place where time stops and you can paradise with that special someone. Thanks CCRR.
Andrew and Nicole (Satinash, a Glass Terrace Bungalow)
We stayed 3 nights for a long weekend in "Booyong" - a rainforest canopy bungalow. It was wonderful. Spa bath overlooking the rainforest, log fire, barbeque outside on the deck, beautiful soft bath robes, slippers. We had the option of eating inside or out with 2 table & chair settings.
Waking up to whip birds calling, we didn't want to leave. It was very easy to forget you are only about an hour & a half from Brisbane.
We chose to bring our own breakfasts and ordered two lunches & two dinner hampers. We had brought food for the 3rd night, but we needn't have bothered - the two dinner hampers would have easily covered 3 nights for us. The quality of the food was very good.
Their website does warn about access to the property in that there are some creek crossings – even with the rain these were not an issue in the slightest for our typical sedan.
MegJofOZ (Booyong, a Rainforest Canopy Bungalow)
This has been a wonderful experience. Loved every minute of it.
Daniel and Maria (Carabeen, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
We stayed at Tamarind and enjoyed every minute. The accommodation is very well appointed – king size bed, plenty of room, well fitted out kitchen and spa and instructions on how to operate everything.
The food is delivered daily (dinner and breakfast) and is very easy to manage. I'm a bit of a microwave sceptic but the meals have been designed for easy heating, and the food could have been straight from a restaurant kitchen. If anything, there was probably a little too much for us (we ended up with left over breakfasts) but better to be full than starving. Murwillumbah is only 15 minutes away, so you could eat in town, but then you have to drive home. We found eating in (even "cooking" ourselves) to be excellent and less stressful than waiting in a noisy restaurant.
There is 3G coverage on site, and Digital Free-to-air TV, but we found we just used the video library so we could "drop out".
I did the lookout walk and found it quite hard work – the path is not in great condition so I would recommend taking good boots, water and a walking staff. And taking your time (especially if it is warm). But then, had a dip in the creek after it and was well worth it.
Room Tip: If you're not a big eater, think about not having a meal supplied for breakfast, lunch and dinner...
Edmo 1066 (Tamarind, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
We had the pleasure of staying at the Rainforest Lodge at Crystal Creek for 3 nights and I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Everything is thought of to make you stay as comfortable as can be. Five star luxury set in a beautiful rainforest. Congratulations to the owners. This place deserves to be number 1 for accommodation in this area. I can't wait to go back.
Room Tip: Treat yourself and stay in the Rainforest Lodge or the Mountain View Lodge.
Eddie (Cedar Lodge, the Luxury Rainforest Lodge)
I'm sitting in the lounge room of Satinash, Glass Terrace room with the fireplace going and having just completed my bacon and egg breakfast (or should I say breakFEAST). What a magnificent place this is. It is quite cool here during this time of year so we haven't ventured out too much yet, but with everything at your fingertips there is no need to. We have been out of our room twice so far out of our three day visit (today is the third day) and both times was to go to the games room for a selection of entertainment. We had a lot of fun playing ping pong but what has been my favourite was the outdoor shower - Bliss! It is so very private here ... Second to this would have to be curling up with the blanket and lying on the sun lounges on our deck listening to see how many bird calls I could hear an any one time or perhaps the relaxing couples massage by Roy ... The food has been amazing, we will have enough left over for a picnic today after enjoying the beef hamper last night. We are hoping to do some exploring today and go and visit the orchard as well as the creek and see the hammocks. We definitely recommend this place and will be trying to get back during summer, maybe then we will venture out and enjoy all the rest of what this place has to offer.
Zenmali (Satinash, a Glass Terrace Bungalow)
Thank you so much for a most impressive stay! Absolutely delightful place! We loved Cedar Lodge and loved loved Springbrook Lodge!! You provided us with a special opportunity to connect before my husband is deployed to Afghanistan. We shall return to this amazing and beautiful place.
– Madonna and Tony (Springbrook Lodge, a Luxury Mountain View Lodge)
This has been the most relaxing holiday we have ever had! We stayed in Cedar Lodge and the peace and tranquility was unlike anything we have ever experienced before. The service is outstanding and the Lodge is amazing and we really indulged in the fireplace and movies! We will definitely be back!
– Jess and Doug (Cedar Lodge, the Luxury Rainforest Lodge)
Thanks for such a lovely, relaxing, romantic weekend away. Tamarind Bungalow was perfect. The walks were awesome. We will be back, thanks again.
Aaron and Drea (Tamarind, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
Thank you so much! We had an absolutely amazing time here, Carabeen was perfect. Nice and cosy with amazing views. Just what we wanted for our Honeymoon. The hammocks and swimming holes were a perfect slice of Heaven. We will definitely be coming back.
Sam and Mick (Carabeen, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
We couldn't have asked for a better mini-moon- it was definitely worth the wait! Loved Satinash (especially the outdoor shower) and the crumpet breakie! Looking forward to returning in the future,
Katrina and Adam (Satinash, a Glass Terrace Bungalow)
My wife and I had a spur of the moment thing and decided to get away from the kids for a weekend. We looked and found this place and were lucky enough to get a room for one night. This place is an oasis in the rainforest. Everything people have said is right – it's amazing. Every luxury is there, but don't kid yourself – this is a rainforest retreat, not a luxury hotel in town, be prepared for wildlife encounters. We even had an adventurous kookaburra that did a break and enter through a fly screen – that just added to the charm, and I believe they are not usually that friendly! The room and heated plunge pool was awesome. Be prepared and bring food and drinks and you can easily spend 4-5 days of resting, bush walking and escape kids, jobs, whatever. Like many others we wished our stay had been longer. Be aware that if you plan walking on the trails at the moment that they are still suffering from damage from the cyclone early this year and good walking gear is recommended (we were fortunately well prepared). Also, don't expect the walks to be gentle strolls – they are great testing walks. The owners are great and incredibly helpful. We will be back!
My new husband and I stayed at Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat, in Satinash lodge, for our wedding night and one night after that in March, 2013. It was absolutely incredible!
Thankfully we had a wonderful limo driver (Pavlo from Tweed Valley Limousines) who had taken people up there before and knew what to do when you check in at 11.30pm, otherwise we'd have been completely lost.
Just a helpful tip to any other wedding night couples, if you stay in Satinash; ladies change out of your dress before heading to CCRR! I didn't because we were told that it was an easy walk to the lodge ... They forgot to mention that it was up the side of a mountain on a dirty, rocky path. I am by no means the fittest person and I was in a dress I could barely breathe in to begin with, so by the time I got to the lodge, my dress was filthy, I could hardly breath from puffing and my shoes were ruined. Live and learn!
Apart from that, we absolutely loved our stay! The place is spectacular. It is so private and you never see another person the whole time you are there!
We loved lounging around on the big leather sofa, watching the big TV, relaxing in the spa big enough for two, napping on the super comfy, king-sized bed and cooking on the BBQ on the deck.
The kitchen was well equipped but lacked an oven. In a pinch, and on the lowest temp, the BBQ can be used as an oven but it would be better to have an actual oven. We made do though.
The shower in the bathroom does tend to put water everywhere, but that's the only fault with the bathroom ... Apart from the big spider on the outside of the window above the spa.
We didn't use the outdoor shower because ... Well, because spiders.
On our way to check out, we were ambushed by some little dogs on the way down the hill but their bark was worse than their bite, the little cuties. That was the first time we met the owners, when we checked out, and they seemed lovely.
The only bad thing about the whole experience is that it was over too quickly! We left it too long to book and ended up only being able to book two nights because the place is so popular ... We can see why now!
Charming Designs (Satinash, a Glass Terrace Bungalow)
We stayed 3 nights in Springbrook Lodge, in absolute privacy and tranquility. The lodge is beautifully designed and offers such incredible mountain and rainforest views. We chose to self cater and lived it up. Champagne breakfast by the pool, dinner by candle light and glowing fire.
Room Tip: If you can afford it, book a mountain view lodge, otherwise the other rainforest villas are good, but older and not as well appointed. Take plenty of wine and cheese and indulge.
My husband and I recently spent 6 nights in the Springbrook Mountain View Lodge. Words cannot describe how truly beautiful this place is! The views from the floor to ceiling glass windows are mesmerising and breathtaking. Everything in the lodge was top quality from the huge HD tv to the ever so comfy king bed! Spending countless hours in the amazing marble bath was a great way to unwind in the evening. The walking tracks on the property are fantastic and jumping into their crystal clear rockpools is a relaxing way to end the walk. The service provided by all the Crystal Creek team was very friendly and professional. Breakfast baskets were delicious and fresh. We will without a doubt be back!
My husband and I just recently stayed here for 3 nights in the Mountain View Lodge (Numinbah Lodge) for my 30th Birthday. No words can describe how perfect this place was.
Highlight for us would have to be our private plunge pool. Aside from that, we felt like the only people on the mountain, it was just so private, we really appreciated that.
The lodge was amazing. Loved all the windows with the stunning rainforest views, the rain shower, large marble bath, the lights in the lodge, heated bathroom floor, and the list goes on.
We loved trekking down at night to see the glow worms and the DVD library is handy too. Staff were friendly and helpful and the whole place has a relaxed down to earth vibe. You can't fault this place.
Room Tip: Worth paying extra for a Mountain View Lodge. They are away from everyone else & have the private plunge pool.
Went for an anniversary celebration for three nights. It rained the whole time but that only made it more romantic watching the rain clouds roll down the mountain. Breath taking views. Could lie in bed watching the bush glisten with rain from our bed or bath. Cooked a breakfast on the barbecue, and sat on the covered verandah on the big double sun bed watching the rain come and go. Good sound system in the cabin. Staff were great and very friendly. Watch out for the leaches. We went for a walk through the bush and had to fight them from crawling up our shoes every 2 mins. Loved the hammocks over the creek. Will go back in a few years for another anniversary I'm sure.
Awesome Retreat, relaxed and refreshed. Perfect place for a Honeymoon.
Chris and Mel (Tamarind, a Creekside Spa Cabin)
Just returned from an amazing weekend at Crystal Creek. Each cottage is completely private and secluded. The finishes are absolutely top notch, you are surrounded by luxury in the middle of a gorgeous rainforest. Loved swimming in the waterfall, and the hammocks over the rock pools are just divine. Loved my weekend away, will definitely be returning!
Absolutely perfect! Words can't describe. Our cabin was incredible – so private and very romantic. The walks were beautiful and made even better with a refreshing dip in the rock pools afterward. Loved the hammocks – great way to stop and appreciate life. We will be back!!!
We stayed in one of the Creekside Spa Cabins on our honeymoon and it was absolutely amazing! The location is stunning with gorgeous rainforest views and the cabin was spacious and very well set out. We couldn't believe the attention to detail when we arrived. Drawers were stocked with Panadol, insect repellent, a torch, candles etc ... The handmade soaps were fantastic and the spa was amazing! Our cabin even had a 50 inch TV and a home theatre setup. We ordered several meals and picnic lunches and they were all amazing, very generous servings (more than we could eat) and absolutely delicious! The orchard and creek are both beautiful and such relaxing and peaceful places. Overall, we would strongly recommend Crystal Creek to any couple, it is an absolutely stunning place, perfect in fact.
