Explore the national parks between the Gold Coast hinterland and the Byron Bay hinterland from this couples only retreat.
Discover the Tweed Valley and Gold Coast hinterland from this couples only luxury retreat
Crystal Creek Rainforest couples only retreat in the Tweed Valley is the perfect accommodation in the rainforest to explore the five World Heritage listed National Parks, formed from volcanic activity over millions of years, stretching from Mt Tamborine in the north, down to Byron Bay in the south, creating the second largest shield volcano in the world. The action of wind and rain over the past 20 million years have eroded softer rock from around the plug or central core of the volcano leaving what the volcanologists call a caldera (large depression or ring of eroded material). At the centre of the caldera, Mt Warning now stands proud overlooking the caldera and its surrounding rim which avoided erosion due to its make up of harder rock material. The rim (approx 40km in diameter) now hosts four World Heritage Listed National Parks, Boarder Ranges, Nightcap, Lamington, and Springbrook whose escarpment juts bolt upright from Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat. Picturesque drives lead to serene walks and breathtaking views, a visit to the area must include at least one of these magnificent national parks.
